Frequently asked questions

Q: Why should I use a professional organiser?

A: If you feel “stuck” in your sorting; feel that your stuff owns you rather than you owning and enjoying your stuff; if you don’t know where to start and need a plan; if you want your home/office/school to run more seamlessly – in fact there are so many reasons why many turn to an organiser for help. My main reason – to help YOU in whichever way you need it.

Q: My space is embarrassing, what info about the state of my home/office/school will be shared with others on social media?

A: If your space is embarrassing, then all the more credit to you for reaching out for help! Remember, this is what I love doing, and will always respect your privacy and possessions. No judgement.

All of the work I do is confidential. Occasionally I will ask clients if I can take before and after photos, but these are only taken with your consent, and will be posted without names or locations. Nothing will be shared without your consent.

Q: How much does an organiser cost?

A: Costs depend on the size and complexity of the area to be decluttered. Once the initial consultation has been conducted and the areas have been assessed, an estimated quote can be provided and discussed.

Q: Will I have to get rid of my treasured possessions?

A: The short answer – No. Only items you can part with and deem unneeded will be discarded/recycled. Part of my job is to help you make those very important decisions as to what to keep and what to discard. It really helps to have someone to guide you to think through each item as we sort through them.  My aim is not to deplete you of your treasured items, but to help you to enjoy the things you have and to make your space and your life more functional and manageable.

Q: What supplies would I need to provide?

A: I provide small items such as tape, stickers, recycling bags and other basic stationery. As far as possible I try to make use of containers that you already have to create a functional and aesthetic space. If extra containers/boxes/crates/dividers are required, these can be provided at an additional cost.

Q: Do you clean?

A: I always find it easier to “kill two birds with one stone” by doing a basic clean of cabinets, bookshelves and other areas while decluttering, but if this takes too much time or you have someone that is around to do this, they are welcome to as it can take time.  I don’t offer a deep cleaning service, but I can refer you to one of my contacts to arrange deep cleaning.

Q: I’m interested in what you can do for me. How do I find out more?

A: First things first! Contact me so that we can arrange a free 30 minute consultation. Consultations are conducted either virtually or in person, whichever you are most comfortable with. During this time we will assess your space, talk about your goals, challenges and vision for each area, and discuss the possible ways forward. Sometimes, depending on the scope and complexity of your needs, a follow-up consultation will need to be arranged to outline the process that we will follow for each space.
